Daddy’s Girl

Daddy’s Girl
Her friends used to tease
her because of their jealousy
She’d just laugh inside
and her smile she’d hide
’cause she knew in her memory
that no matter what anyone might
say or do that he always loved her
The names they’d call her
only made her stronger ’cause she
had the strength of his love
and though he’d been gone
for a long time now
her heart was filled with his joy
Her eyes always had such deep,
deep pride and her limbs
would hold him tight
This pride of her father
she’d kept for herself
when the world would put
her down
And to this end, she’d tell the world
of the joy and love she has
But most of all she was
proudest to be called “Daddy’s Girl”
